Benefits

Committed to the Betterment of Wyandotte County
East Side Energy Storage has the potential to deliver significant investment in Wyandotte County and provide long-term benefits including new local jobs, increased tax revenue to support essential services, increased control over future energy costs, community partnerships, and enhanced energy reliability.
Economic Benefits
East Side Energy Storage is committed to boosting the local workforce by creating opportunities for stable, well-paying jobs during the construction and maintenance of the Project. The economic impact of the jobs created by East Side Energy Storage is estimated to result in $8 million of new local earnings across over 70 local jobs.
East Side Energy Storage is guaranteeing a minimum of $27 million in tax revenue to benefit local schools, infrastructure, and community services. This new source of revenue will have a far-reaching impact to improve the quality of life for all community members within Wyandotte County.

Community Benefits
During the permitting and construction phases, the Project will contribute $5,000 per quarter to local Community-Based Organizations supporting key initiatives such as environmental restoration, agricultural preservation, energy relief, and human services. Once operational, these funds will transition to support an annual scholarship program for local post-secondary education students, with an emphasis on those pursuing STEM fields.

Energy Benefits
Aging transmission grids and inefficient power systems are costing us more money each year. Energy storage projects like the proposed East Side Energy Storage project will help control future energy price increases – reducing the burden on local families and businesses. The project would reduce the need to operate less efficient generation facilities and mitigate costly transmission problems, providing an estimated $9 million in annual production cost savings.

Environmental Benefits
East Side Energy Storage is a clean energy solution that will not increase traffic, demand on local resources, noise, odors, and will not result in visual impacts to surrounding neighbors. The project is developing 10 acres of a 64-acre parcel, protecting the surrounding area from other more intrusive development.
The project will utilize LFP battery technology, which is the safest non-toxic battery technology using bio-degradeable components. At the end of the Project's useful life, all of the equipment will be removed and the land will be fully restored to its current condition.
